- Are All Skylights Considered Fall Hazards?
Absolutely. According to OSHA standard 1910.28(b)(3)(i), any opening more than 4 feet above a lower surface must be secured to prevent falls—including skylights. While the regulation is clear, evaluating your roof’s specific risks isn’t always straightforward. That’s why it’s smart to consult with a Lighthouse Safety Specialist. They’ll help assess each skylight and develop a protection plan based on real-world exposure and risk level.
- What’s the Maximum Skylight Size a Screen Can Cover?
For domed skylights, our screens can protect openings up to 70 inches wide. On metal roofs, standard screen sizes vary by roof type:
